Texas is our Laboratory

Our lab’s motto is “Texas is our laboratory” and performance measurement makes healthcare improvement possible and is the essence of our mission.

We are Health Outcomes Researchers and measure healthcare performance with a focus on the T3 scope of translational research. With an extensive IT project management background and an understanding of innovations in health care, my research gives evidence to move practical ideas into practice. I have three distinct lines of research:

1) Clinical and economic evaluation of health care programs

2) Development of health information technology to improve health care delivery

3) Develop health care simulations to improve clinical and economic performance.

At the 2012 AACP annual meeting, Dr. Douglas participated in a panel discussion and presented results from his PhD dissertation study on assessment of clinical performance. Although the session has a funny title, we addressed serious issues on clinical performance assessment.
