Texas is our Laboratory

Our lab’s motto is “Texas is our laboratory” and performance measurement makes healthcare improvement possible and is the essence of our mission.

We are Health Outcomes Researchers and measure healthcare performance with a focus on the T3 scope of translational research. With an extensive IT project management background and an understanding of innovations in health care, my research gives evidence to move practical ideas into practice. I have three distinct lines of research:

1) Clinical and economic evaluation of health care programs

2) Development of health information technology to improve health care delivery

3) Develop health care simulations to improve clinical and economic performance.

Dr. Charles Douglas gets the AACP 2013 New Investigator Award

Dr. Charles Douglas is one of 18 recipients of the AACP 2013 New Investigator Award. The award will fund development of video simulations to improve preceptor assessment of student clinical performance in advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs) and serve as a prototype for future training programs nationally.

Ashley Fox present's poster at the 2012 ASHP Mid-Year Meeting

Ashley Fox (P3) presented a poster on December 3rd at the 2012 ASHP Mid-Year Meeting entitled “Development of video simulations to improve preceptor assessment of student clinical performance in advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs)”. During Ashley's summer internship, she noticed a design problem with a research study and took it upon herself to fix the problem. This poster describes how she adressed the problem.
